First Responder Training Courses
"How Do We Save Ourselves" A First Responder Mental Health Course:
The crisis of First Responder suicide that we are facing today needs to be addressed head-on in a manner that enlightens not only command staff of the different agencies, but the responders on the street as well. This course accomplishes this by discussing the issue of First Responder mental health and how their co-workers can identify it when an issue presents itself. It details the signs and symptoms of the common mental health manifestations seen in First Responders and how they sometimes present differently in members of the First Responder community. It also addresses the “Old School” way of thinking and how to change this way of thinking to serve our fellow colleagues better when they are in crisis. Changing this way of thinking is accomplished through proactive prevention and intervention practices that are discussed in this lecture.
Our goal for this course is simple. It is:
NOT ONE MORE OF OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, NOT ONE MORE LOST TO SUICIDE.
